Russel Jimenez, LPT

"If the English language is the deepest ocean, one must simply learn how to swim to master it. If communication is the tallest mountain, one must simply learn how to climb to surmount it. Speaking is but a skill that can be learned by anyone: at any age, at any level, and at any social status."

With 5 years of diverse working experience, my teaching strength lies in English language communication skills development. To sum up my career, I have presented it in three subtopics: International Experience, Academic Excellence, and Career Growth. You will find that my specialty balances both the industry and the academe. In this regard, I prepare my students by benchmarking the needs of the corporate world and the needs of the education world.

INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE

Russel John S. Jimenez, referred to as Russ by his constants and colleagues, has handled multicultural classes here in the Philippines and in Japan. He has classroom teaching experience to students from the seven continents of the world. From the pool of international students, he has taught people from all walks of life: celebrities, lawyers, diplomats, doctors, politicians, students, college professors, school teachers, business owners, and rank-and-file employees. In 2017, Russ has  visited Japan to extend his expertise in teaching English to Japanese Teachers of English. He has been going back and forth to Japan every year ever since to share current trends and techniques in teaching English here in the Philippines. In his visit to Japan in 2019, he has co-managed the event.

ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE

Russ has studied Bachelor's in Elementary Education from La Consolacion College and graduated on top of his class, with a Latin distinction of Cum Laude. On his graduation day, he has received a recognition certificate from the City Health Department of Caloocan City citing exemplary voluntary services offered to the city. He is also the very first LCCian to be given the Mother Rita Barcelo Award in two graduation successions: first in his high school graduation and the second in his college graduation. He has acquired his teaching license on his first take the following year. In his pursuit of knowledge, he has studied Master of Arts in Applied Linguistics at the Centro Escolar University. He then felt that more than understanding the complexities of languages, improving the academe is what he truly desires; for which he is now studying Master of Arts in Educational Management at the Philippine Women's University. With a sense of sharing what knowledge he has gained, Russ has given speeches to colleges, universities, and corporate offices around the Philippines.

CAREER GROWTH

In terms of leadership and management, Russ has 11-year experience in a 25-year-old body. He was the president of his class in his high school freshman year, sophomore year, and junior year. In his senior year, he won the presidency of the High School Department’s Student Council. He then represented LCC in Caloocan City's Boys’ and Girls' Week, a gathering of student representatives throughout the entire city. In this event, a youth city election was held from which Russ won as the Youth Vice-mayor of the city. Because of this honor, he was given his own table at the office of the real vice-mayor, then Mr. Egay Erice, and experienced “hitting the gavel” in the city's regular council session. Under his presidency, LCC Basic Education Department experienced its first-ever automated voting system. In his college years, he was known as the "president-maker" as he managed the electoral campaigns of all the four presidents of the Student Government that won in his four years in college. He himself has served as the president of the education students' guild of the campus. Right after college, he has taught English at a Chinese school in Manila but then realized that formal teaching has boxed his potential. He then ventured to the training and development industry. He was a language trainer at the American Institute for English Proficiency, from which he was a sought after trainer in both group classes and private classes, by local and international students alike. He has experience teaching English proficiency to students from across the proficiency board: from beginners' training up to advanced communication skills training. He has also experienced organizing numerous events, all of which have a budget of no less than 50,000Php. Realizing that he has been teaching to foreigners more than Filipinos, he decided to start his own company. In 2019, he co-founded English Rave Hub Manila Inc. (EngRave), a communication skills training and development center in Quezon City. Today, Russ focuses all his energy on developing the Filipino workforce by offering quality and affordable communication skills training. He currently serves as EngRave’s Co-Founder and Vice-President for Academic Affairs.
